Lot of Laughter Yoga Foundation conducted a Mental Health & Wellness Programme for the Indian Army community at Jhansi and Babina Cantonments with AWWA, featuring Laughter Therapy and Clown Therapy.

Two Days. Two Cantonments. One Mission — Mental Wellness. 🇮🇳

21–22 August 2026 | Jhansi Cantonment & Babina Cantonment

What happens when laughter, wellness and the spirit of service come together inside an Army cantonment?

The answer was simple — smiles, connection, positive energy and unforgettable moments.

The Lot of Laughter Yoga Foundation, under the guidance of Dr. Harish Rawat, was honoured to conduct a special Mental Health & Wellness Programme for the Indian Army community in collaboration with the Army Wife Welfare Association (AWWA) at Jhansi Cantonment and Babina Cantonment on 21–22 August 2026.

From Army Public School, Sainik School and Kendriya Vidyalaya to Clown Therapy at Military Hospital and Laughter Therapy sessions for Army personnel and their families, the two-day initiative created six meaningful wellness engagements.

And behind every session was one powerful message:

Those Who Protect Our Nation Also Deserve a Moment to Breathe, Laugh & Recharge.

🇮🇳 Day 1: Jhansi Cantonment — Starting the Journey with Laughter

The first day of the Indian Army Mental Wellness Programme took place at Jhansi Cantonment.

The sessions brought together members of the Army community through laughter, positive interaction and wellness-focused activities.

Students, families and members of the wider cantonment community were encouraged to experience the lighter side of life through carefully facilitated laughter and wellness practices.

The atmosphere was filled with participation, smiles and positive energy.

Because sometimes, a simple smile can become the beginning of a powerful emotional reset.

🇮🇳 Day 2: Babina Cantonment — From Laughter to Healing

The second day took the wellness mission to Babina Cantonment.

One of the most touching engagements was Clown Therapy at the Military Hospital, where humour and positive interaction created moments of happiness within a healthcare environment.

The programme also included Laughter Therapy for Army personnel and their families, providing participants with an opportunity to step away from routine pressures and reconnect with joy, relaxation and one another.

Six engagements. Two cantonments. Countless smiles. ❤️

🤡 Clown Therapy at Military Hospital

A hospital is often associated with seriousness, uncertainty and emotional pressure.

But what if, for a few moments, the environment could be filled with smiles?

That was the spirit behind the Clown Therapy session at the Military Hospital.

Through appropriate humour, playful interaction and positive engagement, the session aimed to create moments of lightness and emotional comfort.

The goal was not simply to make people laugh.

It was to remind everyone that joy and human connection have a place even during challenging moments.

😂 Laughter Therapy for Army Personnel & Families

Laughter brought another important dimension to the programme.

Laughter Therapy sessions for Army personnel and their families created an opportunity for participants to come together, interact and experience collective positive energy.

For families connected to the armed forces, everyday life can involve unique responsibilities and challenges.

A wellness session can provide something valuable:

A chance to pause.
A chance to connect.
A chance to breathe.
A chance to laugh.

And sometimes, that is exactly what the mind needs.

🎓 Wellness for the Next Generation

The programme also reached educational communities through engagements involving Army Public School, Sainik School and Kendriya Vidyalaya.

Introducing positive wellness practices at an early stage can help young people understand the importance of emotional wellbeing, positive thinking, healthy social connection and relaxation.

Mental wellness is not only about dealing with problems.

It is also about building resilience, positivity and healthy emotional habits before problems become overwhelming.

💚 Why Mental Wellness Matters in the Army Community

Behind every uniform is a person.

Behind every soldier is a family.

Behind every Army family is a story.

Military communities carry responsibilities that are different from those experienced in ordinary civilian life. Serving personnel and their families may experience demanding schedules, transfers, separation, uncertainty and significant responsibilities.

That is why mental health and emotional wellness deserve attention alongside physical fitness.

A strong nation needs strong communities — and strong communities need people who are emotionally supported, connected and cared for.

हँसी सिर्फ खुशी नहीं — हँसी एक शक्ति है।

Laughter is universal.

You don’t need a common language to share a smile.

You don’t need an introduction to laugh together.

And you don’t need a reason to spread positivity.

At the Lot of Laughter Yoga Foundation, laughter is used as part of a broader wellness approach that may include breathing practices, meditation, relaxation, mindfulness and positive interaction.

🙏 Gratitude to AWWA & the Indian Army

The Lot of Laughter Yoga Foundation expresses heartfelt gratitude to the Army Wife Welfare Association (AWWA) and the Indian Army community for providing the opportunity to conduct this meaningful wellness initiative.

Being able to bring laughter and positive energy to Jhansi and Babina Cantonments was a deeply memorable experience.

The initiative reinforced an important truth:

Mental wellness is everyone’s responsibility.

Whether someone wears a uniform, supports a family, teaches children, works in a hospital or serves a community — everyone deserves moments of emotional wellbeing.

🌍 Dr. Harish Rawat: Spreading the Power of Laughter

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Harish Rawat, International Laughter Wellness & Spiritual Coach and Founder of the Lot of Laughter Yoga Foundation.

His work focuses on promoting laughter, wellness, yoga, meditation and holistic wellbeing with a larger vision of creating a:

Depression-Free World & World Peace. 🌍

🇮🇳 From Jhansi & Babina to a Depression-Free World

The two-day programme may have taken place across two cantonments, but its message goes much further.

Mental wellness matters.

Laughter matters.

Families matter.

And those who dedicate themselves to protecting our nation deserve our respect, gratitude and support.

For our soldiers.

For their families.
For a stronger India.

Jai Hind!
