At Lot of Laughter Yoga Foundation, India, we believe in spreading joy and healing through laughter. Our mission goes beyond human wellness—we extend our love, compassion, and energy to the entire planet, including our animal friends.
One such heartfelt initiative we proudly support is the Save Lucy / The Lucky Project. This movement is dedicated to Lucy (also known as Lucky), the elephant, and is led by Cristine Van Halteren from Canada, who serves as our official Laughter Angel (Volunteer) at LOL Yoga Foundation. She has taken on the incredible responsibility of raising awareness about Lucy’s plight and advocating for her well-being.
About Cristine Van Halteren
Cristine Van Halteren is a passionate animal rights advocate and a dedicated laughter wellness Trainer from Canada. As the official Laughter Angel (Volunteer) of Lot of Laughter Yoga Foundation, she has been instrumental in leading the Save Lucy / The Lucky Project. With a deep sense of empathy and commitment, Cristine works tirelessly to spread awareness about Lucy/Lucky’s condition, inspiring people across the globe to take action. Her unwavering efforts bring hope and healing energy to this noble cause.
Who is Lucy/Lucky the Elephant?
Lucy (or Lucky) is an elephant in need of help and support from kind souls around the world. She has spent years in captivity, far away from her natural habitat, enduring conditions that are unsuitable for an elephant’s physical and emotional well-being. Due to years of confinement and isolation, Lucy/Lucky has faced numerous health issues, including joint pain and respiratory problems, which are common in captive elephants.
Elephants are intelligent, social creatures that thrive in open spaces, forming strong familial bonds. Unfortunately, Lucy/Lucky has been deprived of the opportunity to interact with other elephants, making her situation even more distressing.
Advocates like Cristine Van Halteren and Lot of Laughter Yoga Foundation believe that through love, laughter, and awareness, we can make a difference in Lucy/Lucky’s life. We hope to see her placed in a sanctuary where she can receive proper care, social interaction, and the freedom she deserves.
Dr. Harish Rawat’s Support for the Cause
Our founder, Dr. Harish Rawat, an International Laughter Wellness & Spiritual Guru, actively supports and spreads awareness about this project. He believes that laughter and positive energy have the power to heal not only people but also animals and nature.
To express our solidarity, Lot of Laughter Yoga Foundation has created special videos of Elephant Laughter Yoga dedicated to Lucy/Lucky the Elephant. These videos are meant to send love, healing, and positive vibrations to our beloved elephant friend.
